Bird Food
More than half of the UK population feed birds in their garden. Providing wild birds with with a healthy and balanced feed will bring them closer for you your home, especially in the winter where traditional food sources, such as weedy stubble and cereals fed to outdoor stock are no longer available. Mixed seed, black sunflower seed and nyger seed are all excellent and nutritious types of feed. Peanuts are also popular, however salted or dry peanuts should not be used. Meaty tinned dog and cat food can be a great substitute to earthworms summer. Did you know that blackbirds readily take dog food and feed it to their chicks?
