What is the difference between layers pellets and mash?

Both are complete feeds for laying hens. Pellets cause less waste and suit most feeders; mash is a finer meal that some keepers prefer and that hens take longer to eat. Mixed corn is best treated as a scratch feed alongside a complete feed rather than instead of one.

How do I deal with red mite?

Red mite hide in the house during the day, so treat the housing as well as the birds. Nettex Total Mite Kill is a ready-to-use liquid for the house. Ask in store if you need a hand choosing.

Can I collect poultry feed?

Yes. Collection from our Stirling store is free, and larger sacks over 20kg are collection only. Our Ayr, Kinross and Lanark stores also stock poultry feed: call your branch.
